On our site, you will be able to acquire artistic and artisanal works by Galapagos hands that express the art or flavors of the enchanted islands to the world. Galapagos Handmade is a project managed by the Fundación Un Cambio por la Vida (FUNCAVID) and supported by the Galapagos Fund of Celebrity Cruises and the NGO Galapagos Conservancy. The main goal is "To market artisanal artistic works made by permanent residents of Galapagos with local manufacture, under fair trade and social responsibility principles. An adaptation measure for the economic reactivation of this sector in the face of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, is bringing artistic or artisan works closer to the hands of guests who visit the islands.

Galapagos Handmade www.galapagoshandmade.com will strictly apply all the benefits and guarantees that the Consumer Rights Protection Law establishes for the transactions carried out through our website.

HOW TO PURCHASE ON THE WEBSITE

Galapagos Handmade is an electronic commerce platform for the exclusive use of people over 18 years of age or legally registered private companies. Minors may use the services of the platform through their legal representative.

To make purchases, you must follow these steps:

1. Enter the website www.galapagoshandmade.com and browse the profile of the artists that catch your attention or go directly to the catalog of artistic and artisan works;

2. Select the products of your interest and add them to the "cart";

3. Select the vessel's name or hotel where you are staying.

4. Once the order is placed, a description of the product, the price, the means of payment, the total value of the purchase and the other conditions of your order will be displayed on your screen, which you can print and store; as well as a unique number of the order, with which you can track it. We will send this information via e-mail to the electronic address you indicated at the time of purchase.

5. Your order will automatically go through a bank confirmation process, safeguarding your security and the availability, validity, and quota of the selected payment method.

6. Once the above condition has been successfully fulfilled, the charge will be made to the selected credit or debit card, the proof of purchase will be sent with the respective electronic invoice to the email previously indicated at the time of purchase and the purchase will be dispatched to be delivered.

7. Wait for the delivery of your purchase during your visit to Santa Cruz Island within your itinerary or at the hotel where you are staying, in both cases we will coordinate the delivery with the person in charge of your stay in Santa Cruz Island.

Note: Tourists can make purchases on the website www.galapagoshandmade.com before entering the Galapagos Islands and during their stay on the cruise ship or hotel up to 3 days before your departure (guides in Quito and website communications support this information to guests). Ensure timely delivery of the purchase and exercise the Right of Return established in Article 45 of the Organic Law of Consumer Protection. The mere visit to this site does not impose any obligation unless you have expressed it unequivocally. DISPATCH OF PRODUCTS

When a tourist purchases one or more artistic or craft works, the website will send an automatic email notification to info@galapagoshandmade.com (administered by FUNCAVID) to record the purchase in a database and activate the dispatch and delivery.

Next, we detail the dispatch and delivery protocol of purchases made:

1. FUNCAVID will receive the email with the proof of payment number, the buyer's name, and the vessel or hotel on which it is reserved.

2. The delivery of purchases will be made according to the following itinerary:

a) For the delivery of purchases at the main dock of Santa Cruz or the Hotel where you are staying, the Coordinator of the Galapagos HandMade project will go with the rigid suitcase of the investments made to the bus to carry out, in coordination with the Head of Guest Relations, the delivery of the purchases.

b) In the event of any query or claim from buyers, the Galapagos HandMade Project Coordinator will contact the Guest Relations Manager or the Director of the corresponding cruise or hotel to solve any questions.

c) FUNCAVID will issue a satisfactory delivery report for the purchase made and will ask the artist or artisan to replace the work of art sold.

d) FUNCAVID will manage the collection of photographs and information of the new pieces of art in the electronic commerce platform www.handmadegalapagos.com.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

The return of purchases made on the website www.galapgoshandmade.com is subject to the Law on Electronic Commerce, signatures and data messages, the Organic Law on Consumer Defense, and other regulations in force in Ecuador.

SECURITY POLITICS

Galapagos Handmade does not require the creation of a user to browse or make purchases on the website ​www.galapagoshandmade.com, so you can feel free to enter and browse as many times as you want.

The only information that you must enter on our website is directly related to the information requested by the bank for the payment of a purchase made on the platform.

DONATIONS
